Just that really. I've got over 600 pounds worth banked which I will use at some point so has anybody had this situation before?

The best person to answer that would be the helpline of whichever company administers them.

I am a childminder. I have had payment from 2 different voucher companies when mum changed job, but I agree phone voucher complany

DaisyFlowerChain · 06/10/2014 17:54

Yes you can, they are yours from your salary although they may have an expiry date on them. I switched jobs a couple of years back and had a credit balance. I did have to give the company notice though that I was pulling out of the scheme as I no longer needed them.

sportinguista · 07/10/2014 12:46

Thanks. Daisy How did you continue to use them? Ours are paid from an online system which we can then pay our childcare provider. Given that it may take me some time to use that amount of vouchers will they still keep the account live until I've used them or do you get them printed out to use as you go?

I'm going to ring the company to find out what will happen so hopefully they can tell me more. I just wondered if the company would say that they kept them.

They're yours and already paid for. I think they're valid for 2 years.

DaisyFlowerChain · 07/10/2014 16:11

Mine just sat in the online account. I left them there for just under a year then used them as I think mine had a twelve month limit on them. They never queried me not using them.

I had about £3k of child care vouchers at one point in an Accor account as part of a redundancy settlement. There was no problem with me using them after I changed companies.

Generally electronic vouchers from a reputable CCV provider (Edenred, Sodexo Care4 etc) will not expire. However an employer may impose restrictions on their usage.

OverAndAbove · 08/10/2014 11:19

Yes, ours are Edenred and they have no expiry. At one point we were using them more slowly than we were accruing; now we are no longer taking them and just using the ones we have for holiday care.

Trapper · 08/10/2014 11:27

Check with the provider. Mine had to be used within twelve months.
You should also be aware that when you start the new role, you will be treated as a new joiner to the vouchers programme. This may affect your eligibility depending on your salary and when you first joined. I found this out when I moved jobs and could only claim a reduced number of vouchers Hmm
