Investigation by the HMRC. It's £140 a year incase they investigate me.

Do I take it? Do they consider me high risk? I'm in healthcare.

We take one out as a GP Practice and pay about £500 a year. Anyone can be investigated and it costs 10s of thousands for the accountants to do the work £140 is less than 50p a day. I think if you are self employed it's worth it to be honest.

My specialist healthcare business insurance already includes this so check the policy you have already before you buy another policy.

We have this AND have had an investigation (sort of healthcare).
Boy was I glad we had the insurance.

Hi,

I work for an insurance broker and you can get this insurance as part of a legal expenses policy. My husband is self employed and he was offered it but i got him a legal expenses policy for £46.50 so I would have a look around.

You can get these policies from an insurer called DAS.

Hope that helps

DH and I run our own business and we have this as part of our insurance. It means that if HMRC do ever decide to investigate us then we don't have to worry about the cost, small amount for peace of mind we think.

Yes do check because you might already have it.

If you want it definitely check out alternative sources - it's usually a good commission earner for accountants.
