Ok background! Ex-p new girlfriend has been repeatedly opening new ebay accounts and ripping people off,she sells mobiles usually but has done a couple of laptops and pc towers. These are always stock photographs as she doesnt actually have the items she claims to be selling.Anyway according to her feedback on her most recent account she has ripped a seller off for £245 for a mobile phone and £147 for a laptop!! neither of which she has sent to these people!!She is using a false name on the account and i know for a fact she takes paypal payment then p[asses it into another paypal account of a friend or relative who then withdraw it through their bank and hand it over to her!!
What would you do?? i would love to email these buyers with her actual name and address but know this will lead to massive trouble between myself and ex and we already have a fragile state of affairs over our 3 kids, but she is tealing from innocent people and it infuriates me watching it!

Would she know it was you who shopped her?
You really need to let ebay know though can understand you don't want trouble with your ex.

fattiemumma · 25/09/2006 21:08

get print out of her goings on and report her to the police.
if you know her user ID's and the details she has given then they will be able to trace her through her isp's and lots of other techy stuff i dont fully understand.

also inform Ebay who will close her account straight away an prevent her frm doing it to anyone else

Loobie · 25/09/2006 21:11

see she keeps using different names and email address on her ebay accounts so ebay woulnd know if she opened another one in yet another name and address???? yes she would know it was me as i would need to contact a member to the person who has been ripped off,if they then pass on my user name to her she will know its me as knows my user name?

It infuraites me that people are out there doing this !! it amounts to stealing from innocent people!!!

it IS stealing.

it is also fraud and she should be arrested and charged with it.
dont bother contacting the victims, inform Ebay and i am certain they will do the rest

southeastastra · 25/09/2006 21:16

yep agree with fattiemumma seriously not on and needs reporting asap

bran · 25/09/2006 21:21

You could open a new account with ebay with an online email address (eg hotmail or gmail) that doesn't mention your name and use that to warn buyers.

Loobie · 25/09/2006 21:49

Ok i have reported her to ebay, have included her real name and address and the names of the other accounts she had been using, will ebay tell her where they got the information? i mean the user id name they were given the info from?? or does it remain anon? im desparate not to cause trouble with ex but am damned if i am going to sit back any longer and watch this women take money from people that isnt her's

i really wouldn't think ebay would let her know where the information came from. don't worry you have done completely the right thing!

SSSandy · 26/09/2006 08:30

Surely ebay has an interest in discovering and stopping fraudulent usage so they wouldn't have an interest in revealing their source (you) to ex-p's new gf? Will she suspect you anyway though?

SSSandy · 26/09/2006 08:48

Can't you just ask Ebay not to tell this woman that you contacted them with the information because she's part of your family circle and it would cause you a lot of difficulty. Surely they'd respect that?

Loobie · 26/09/2006 13:56

I have emailed them again stating that i dont want my identity exposed, she will most likely just think her account has been pulled for her dodgy dealings, wouldnt think she would think of me unless she was pointed in that direction.

What about contacting Paypal as well they may well be able to freeze her accounts.

wannaBe1974 · 27/09/2006 10:03

how do you know though that all these accounts are hers if she's setting up different accounts?
