has anyone else had problems with npower?

please help,we have all electric 3 bed house(storage heaters)we have been paying £140 per month by dd as we owed them £700,they have now sent a letter saying from the 5th oct they want to take £179 a month as our estimated bill is for the year £1010.28,i cant beleive it,its been summer too so no heating on,what can i do about this,please help?

Presumably mean that the bill for the next 12 months will be £1010 so the fact that it's been summer won't make any difference. I'm also guessing there's been a price increase in the cost of the electricity, hence the higher bill.

Oh scoobytwo. I feel for you. I was paying 45 quid a month (not much I know) for combined gas and leccy with npower. Then for no apparent reason they put it up to £229 a month
If you call them and come to an agreement I'm sure they'll be fine. As long as you are showing willing to pay something?
I've carried on paying £229 so when they come and read the meter I'll get a nice fat refund (I hope)
