Has anyone else had this problem recently? I called the tax credits helpline on the 15th Aug to report a change of circumstances, they said they'd send out a new claim pack that'd reach me by the 29th. No claim pack, so I called back and they said they'd send out another one but that the first one should reach me any day now. They definitely have the correct details. Still no bloody claim pack.
I'm starting to get worried - it's not like I can just pop into the job centre and pick up a claim pack, the only place you can get them is from the helpline. Then when it does eventually get here, it's another 5 weeks til they process the sodding thing and it's not like recalculating tax credits after an income drop is smooth sailing at the best of times. I realise that I'm lucky to even qualify for them, but it feels like they're taking the piss a bit - if I was late returning my renewal form, they'd be quick enough to stop the money going in!
