Hi all I'm after some advice please. DP had a massive heart attack 12 days ago he had a stent fitted and is currently awaiting a triple heart bypass. Due to his job which is very physical. he is currently signed off for 2 months which takes us up to the cardiologist appointment. we have been told to expect him to be off of work for at least 12 months that is if he is allowed to go back.

He will get full sick pay for 6 months and then drop down to half pay. I am currently off work looking after him and will be for a good while yet as he can't do anything or be left alone. My work have been good and are keeping the job open for me. I'm classed as casual in my job as my hours vary and i only get paid for the hours I work.

Im wondering i anyone knows if there is anything we could claim for as obviosuly our rent and bills still need paying. It wont be to bad for the next 6 months but then it will be very hard so I am trying to get organised now.

Many Thanks

Do you have any insurance policies? If you took out a mortgage you may well have one or more. Depending on his age and illness a critical illness policy might pay out.

Worth a look.
