Will being on SMP change my housing benefit, if tax credits disrgard the first £100 pound?

I'm just confused! Just gone onto maternity leave, and I understand tax credits disregard the first £100 per week of this, can't understand if this will effect my tax credits this year or weather I just have to let them know my income next year minus the £100 per week!

Also surely if I'm only down as earning £38 pound a week if this is disregarded then sm I right in thinking it will effect my housing benefit?

Housing benefit don't disregard the £100 a week, but if your income is lower then ring them and they will calculate if you are eligible for more HB.

Call tax credits and tell them your predicted income for the year, so you will get more tax credits.
