COD! I need your advice please!

Hi Cod. Would you mind giving some advice?

DH has gone and got himself another speeding fine. He was just about to lose the last 3 points on his licence and have a clean one again too.

He thinks he can get off because there was a car alongside him that it took a photo of too and if they can't see his tyres along with the lines on the road they can't prosecute. Also he says the speed limit sign was obscured by trees as was the speed camera - he's even been and taken photos!

Is he p!ssing in the wind?

It's Surfermum with a pirate name btw.

Apologies I am obviously not the fishy one
Basically he's pissing in the wind! the lines are there for illustrative purposes. The radar in the gatso calculates the speed, and will show how far he moved between flashes, accurately showing his speed and that of the car alongside him.
There will also be more than one speed limit sign
if they are both obscured then it may be worth mentioning it and documenting it.
Not going to be worth a damn though if there are houses and streetlights or repeater signs or other obvious signs or a change in limit.

CarlK · 19/09/2006 12:02

of a change in limit

Enid · 19/09/2006 12:06

she'll tell you to tell him to suck it up

I'll wager

Scurveymum · 19/09/2006 12:10

I'm hoping that if I tell him "Cod says ..." he might shut up and put up .

He's currently blaming the fact that he didn't have sat nav! I've was telling him calmly "no, it's because you were speeding" but last night ended up screaming it at him.

DD is 3.4 and much easier to deal with!

Isnt it funny how they try to blame you? even more so if you wasnt even in the bloody car with them.

DP tried this one with me, politely told him where to stick his court summons...

Scurveymum · 19/09/2006 12:21

Oh yes, tiredemma "if you'd let me buy a sat nav ..."! The thing is he probably wouldn't have had him with him as he was on his motorbike and only going to the beach - and he can drive that route with his eyes shut!

Sorry, Carlk, just realised I didn't respond to you. I wasn't ignoring you, honest!

You've confirmed all the arguments I've used. He really should have known better. He's such a muppet.

He's had a notice of intended prosecution where he has to confirm it was him on the bike. If he gets these it'll be 3 points, he's currently clean (but only just).

45 in a 30.

OP posts:
Scurveymum · 19/09/2006 14:58

Actually it might be 45 in a 40. 30 seems really slow for the road he was on.

Cheers Cod! Maybe he'll listen to you as he doesn't listen to me. His driving is a BIG bone of contention in this house. How embarassing would that be if he was up in front of you?! He drives a lot around Wilton/Salisbury area with his job!!
