deposit_ 1 term notice

Hi there, I got a shocking new from my nursery. Even though I had a chat with headteacher and she said okay to our deposit, suddenly the owner refused give me deposit back. They say 1 term notice but I notice just the day after the term began. Do you think does it make sense to refuse giving money back only with 1 day? Head teacher agreed to give it back, though? We noticed it 1 day after term begins due to the holidays. The nursery is so mean.

I really need your advice on this matter.
Many thanks in advance.

If you are required to give a specific length notice and you do not do so, I'm sorry, but it really doesn't matter if you miss it by 1 day, 1 week or1 month.

A full term's notice is a standard and enforceable clause.

Sounds like you gave it too late. My daughter just left a private school and one term's notice meant they had to have the notice on or before the first day of the term before she left. So the second day of term would be too late. It is at her discretion to give it back but she doesn't have to, assuming the notice period is in the contract.
