But I was bored, so I watched the benefits programme about the Roma. Of course Channel 5 need to create a sensational story (so that saddos like me will watch), but I'm still fuming!!

There's quite a lot to fume about, sadly. You can't really blame individuals for taking advantage of a flawed system, however. Like those who take advantage of fancy tax avoidance schemes. Human nature being what it is, if there's money to be had, most will go for the cash.

Absolutely true. I have no animosity towards the people, just the bloody ludicrous system!

I think any system is flawed when it makes the mistake of assuming that people are universally honest or, as in the case of the Welfare System, that most would rather be self-sufficient than dependent.
