Tax credits

Hello,

I noticed a few weeks ago my tax credits had dropped from £95.00 to £50.00 a week, on calling them they told me to wait for my renewal pack and then call back. On receiving it they have our correct earning which are £10000.00 less than the previous year? Anyone know if this sounds correct?

I've sent my renewal back a few weeks back but received nothing and payments still £50.00.

I tried calling but can't get through as usual :(

Thank you

Have other things changed - number of hours worked by either of you? A change in child care? Child reaching age 16?

Dee1983 · 12/06/2014 12:10

Thank you for the reply, no we work the same hours, childcare is the same and both children are under 4 years of age. Really unsure what's happened :/

ours did the same thing, they decided on a random figure and told us they wouldnt be able to do anything until I returned the claim pack. At least you should have even higher payments once they do sort it out :(

Thank you for the comment, sorry to hear that, it's so frustrating, I wasn't sure if it was a printing error, our income is £14,000.00 which was showing on the renewal and we have childcare and £50.00 just seemed a bit low :( Yes hopefully I will hear from them soon and Fingers crossed it goes back up :)

Try doing an online calc and see what figures it gives you. As tax credits are based on previous years income if your 12/13 income was lower than your 13/14 income then this may have increased your award up until April.

You earn £14000 a year, have 2 children and got £95 then £50 a week? How can either of those amounts be right?

greeneggsandjam · 18/06/2014 22:48

Are you only working a few hours a week? Is it that you get paid more if you do say more than 30 hours a week?
