I have $60 000 equity in my home and $100 000 super. I have a small business currently earning $30 000pa. I have a baby and a school aged child. I have a partner (newish) who earns $45000pa.

We have no debts other than the mortgage of $88 000.

What's "super"?
Could you use it to pay off the mortgage, then invest the amount of your mortgage payment each month in e.g. A tracker fund? That way you know your house is safe whatever happens to your investments, and you can focus on the future.
How about installing solar PV panels? The price of fuel is going up, and the price of panels is coming down. I assume you're in the US, this might be the time to get ahead of the game there and generate your own power.

Am in Australia. It's superannuation, you aren't allowed to touch it until you retire.

I do think the price of solar panels is coming down gradually here too, so a good idea to keep in mind, thank you.

Ginger maybe you could ask this question on Essential Baby which is not quite the equivalent to MN in Australia (they would understand "Super" etc!)
