There are (or certainly used to be recently) hard copy directories. Have you tried your local reference library? You might have to ask for an inter-library loan (which will have a fee) but that'll be much cheaper than buying your own copies (they are quite expensive, but we had office copies where I used to work). Even an oldish one is worth it, as smaller grant giving trusts don't seem to move much.

What sort of thing are you looking for.

The local library doesn't and the main library doesn't and the county library isn't sure they will get back to me
They all seem to be on-line now

DD is off to performing arts college & we aren't sure if we will still get CB/tax credits and if we don't we will be quite short

the main website is Trustfunding www.trustfunding.org.uk/default.aspx
but it costs money
on the other hand there are LOTS of local ALP charities that most people do not know exist.

Put your postcode into the advanced search here
www.charitycommission.gov.uk/find-charities/
and see what comes up

if you live in a parished area, the Parish Clerk may well know what charities are local to you, as should the pastoral team at the school
and the CAB

KatyMac · 01/06/2014 22:14

Yes the Trustfunding one appears to be £295......

Parish council/clerk I can do

CAB area bit tired up round here - big area of deprivation Sad - I might try the phone line
