Student Loans Refund?

Dh has had a letter from the student loans co (original loan) saying he is owed a refund, but no mention of amount or anything. Had anyone else had this? It says it's to do with the way arrears were dealt with. ( we don't even remember him having arrears!).

sounds like it might be connected with this:
www.slc.co.uk/media/news-archive/slc-response-to-media-stories-on-student-loan-overpayments-(1).aspx

if he's been repaying through PAYE he would quite likely overshoot and overpay in the final year of payments - they have introduced a system to allow people to stop paying by PAYE and pay by DD instead to prevent this in future.

However, just in case this is a scam make sure you look up the phone number on the SLC website and if it is different from the number on the letter then only use the number from the website to avoid any possibility that it might be a phoney number.

We are far too old to have repaid through PAYE Grin.

I have - wasn't very exciting though. About £14!

Some people on MSE have refunds of a few hundreds. Depends what happened with your account during the period they messed up though.

Thanks. Dh was expecting £10s not £100s so that won't be too much of a disappointment :)
