Mortgage application with Halifax had been sent to underwriters as couldn't find me or my dh on voters roll even tho we are on it have been for years! Had to give 3 months bank statements, while at the bank (rbs) getting these I gave my drivers licence as Id and the woman told me they have my wrong post code but correct address so she tried to correct it and it was coming up invalid post code?? Called the voters roll and everything is correct on there end, stressing we won't b accepted ???? handed all the documents in last thur still haven't heard anything ???? just needed a rant lol anyone done a mortgage application recently with Halifax how likely to get accepted??

We did one & got rejected but that was Dh's credit rating Hmm, we had the cr corrected but halifax still didn't want us.

Natwest did luckily but halifax do take their time.

We got our rejection very quickly.

They are all taking a long time at the moment - our application (with the Coventry) has taken nearly four weeks and our IFA is saying they are one of the quick ones. It's like the massive amount of extra paperwork required for the MMR is some kind of amazing surprise to them...
I also had a problem with my ID and voter registration - in my case it was because I was listed as a service voter, because of my DH's job, and the credit rating agencies don't pick that up automatically.

Our mortgage application to offer took less than 3 weeks with Nationwide and boy did they scrutinise our let out property!

christinarossetti · 20/05/2014 07:36

Our mortgage application with Nationwide is taking longer than we hoped as the new systems as a result of the new regulations keep throwing up new bits of paper to send them.

They also keep calling to ask the same 3 questions (which we provided answers to right at the beginning of the process...)

As you say, no news us good news as it means they're still scrutisinisimg your documents etc

You'll get there. It is agonising.

The only worse bit is ringing the solicitors on completion day to check the money's gone through.

Ours went in at 10.45am, between 10am (opening time) and 10.45 I drove our lawyers secretary potty Blush

talulahbelle · 20/05/2014 16:37

Our remortgage is being held up because they keep wanting copies of a bank statement (that we've sent 3 times already) and now because the signatures we gave don't match the ones on our driving licenses enough. WTF... It's definitely us who signed them both. Very stressful.

Finally spoke to mortgage advisor paper work didn't get sent to the underwriters until Monday!! Even tho we handed it in on Thursday!! So don't know when we will find out I jus want to know already!
