Hi all mums here,
I'm worried to death now. I have a child tax credit overpayment. My case is in appeal but during checking my paperwork I realised, that there is another CTC overpayment (for different tax year). It came at the same time. I thought I'm sorting it all together but did not realise, they don't! They sort every tax year separatelly :( Now I found a letter from HMRC debt managing team dated back January 2013 asking for payment or they will use debt collection agency...I did not hear anything from then since this letter...I sent them letter about 3 weeks ago asking about this overpayment and what to do now but I'm so worried what they will reply as it is over a year now! Can anyone help? I can't phone the helpline as I'm abroad and don't have enough money so I have to wait for the letter. I have a sleepless nights that they will charge me some huge fees or so even though on the letter it says there is no fee until payment...Has enyone any experience please? I'm so stressed now.

You can contact them and set up a payment for as low as £5 a week and they will except altho depending on the amount it would take years to clear.
Ours was around £1000 for the last 3 years and we are paying around £110 a month to clear it as quickly as possible.
