...the surveyor looking at my house whether anything bad has been noticed? Will he discuss it, vaguely, with me? Or is this verboten?

everything going smoothly tinker?

Think so JT, think so. Always like to be cautious though. Keep noticing discoloured paintwork ie old damp patches!

I asked the surveyor doing our house a few questions - just like which report he was doing and if everything was ok. As far as the survey on the house you're buying, yes you can ask them anything you like - you are paying for it! We have spoken to our surveyor at length on the phone (that's the royal 'we' you understand - made dh do it!!)

Thanks. No, this is survey on existing house hence pondering about etiquette. Don't worry, will have lots of questions re house we're buying.
