Have accepted an offer on my house, survey being done on Tuesday. Offer accepted on house we like - when do we sort out our survey on that? Asap or wait until results of survey on mine are through?

Thanks

With our sale and purchase I arranged for the survey to be done immediately (2 days after we'd made the offer) and kept fingers crossed that everything was fine on the survey on our own house.

Thank you. Just anxious that if our sale fell through we're left shelling out with no buyer. I do worry a lot though.

Any more?

Do it when you apply for your mortgage they can arrange it for you

In the past I have waited for the buyer to do their survey first, but only when I suspected that their might be some issues with the survey. If I was confident that there wouldn't be any problems with the survey on the house I was selling then i'd just get on with it and organise the survey on the house you're buying - just to speed things up, It always takes ages.

No, it's ok, I know to do it when apply for my mortgage but was just wondering when I should do that. Am confident-ish, about my house ie know what faults will definitely be picked up!

I'd do it asap . There should be a time lag anyway so if any serious problems with yours become apparennt it may yet give you time to cancel. If the buyers are keen and faults minor they may just overlook them or simply ask you to sort them or give a bit on price.

Thank Lizs. Will act.
