jsa - partners claim - what happens when the child starts school?

I cam across this article in the Guardian where it says that there are differnet rules for single parents and people with partners when it comes to moving from income based to jsa, here:
"...The government's theory is that work is the best route out of poverty and that it is reasonable to expect parents of school-age children to seek paid employment. No such compulsion, however, has been announced for parents who are couples and living on benefits..."
How will lone parents cope with having to find a job when their children reach school age? | Society | The Guardian

I am confused...

My partner's had to claim JSA for some months now and for now he's had to do the signing-on. Our son is due to start school in September (he'll be 5 then) so I am wondering if it means that in September I will also start having to sign on toghetehr with my partner? Does anyone have any experience with such situations?
TIA

If your partner claims for you as a couple i dont think you both have to attend just him.
