Water Meter

Hello

I've just had our first water meter bill (basically indicating what the 6 month bill will be).

The average daily water usage for our household is 700+ litres (average person uses 150 litres a day eck!)

Would anyone mind sharing what there daily usage is, we are a family of 4 (2 under 5, and 2 adults), i run a dishwasher and washing machines up to 2 times a day.

Im trying to establish if this is standard water usage in this type of household...

Thankyou

On an old bill I have a 6 month use of 66 cubic metres. (1 cubic m = 2200gallons or 1000 litres)
It doesn't say daily/monthly use. We pay £50/mth at the minute but I think its too low. 3 adult sized people / dishwasher /washing machine about 10 loads a week.

Approx 340 litres a day based on the 192 days the bill is calculated. Sad but I just worked it out.

I must have the taps on constantly...thank you for your calculation...

Don't have a bill to hand to check our actual consumption but we pay £39 per month. This is a little under what we are actually using at the moment but seems to even out over the year.

We are a family of 2 adults, 6 & 2 year old. Dh is only home on weekends, holidays etc do mainly 1 adult & 2 kids.

I use dishwasher once per day, machine machine on average 10 X per week, 1 shower per day, 1 bath per day. We are home all day so toilet flushed lots compared to people out at work/school all day.

We have a water saving shower and loo.

What we are charged for usage is less than what we are charged by water board to take the water away!

When we're not being careful we use around 16 cubic metres a month, so if 1 cubic metre is 1,000l, we're using around 530 litres a day. However we've made a bit of an effort to use less recently and have been down to 13 cubic metres, so 430l a day. We're a family of 5, although DC3 is under a month old! DC1 and 2 are 6yo and 3yo. Washing machine and dishwasher are worst offenders - both quite old and not desperately efficient.

I've worked mine out at 23m in 4 months or 19l a day.

It can't be right because I put the dw on daily & flush the loo etc.

1m of waters a 1000l?

190l a day. I was working it out all wrong.

I blame my dw, it uses 16l per cycle.
