Sure Start Maternity Grant

Hi I am pregnant and already have a 5 and 4 year old... I am on income support and have been since December 2013. Would I be entitled to the maternity grant or is it literally just for pregnant mothers without other children? I wasn't sure if people on benefits still get it? Xxxx

It's just if you're on benefits AND it's your first child, so no you won't be eligible sorry.

Unless you are now pregnant with multiples then you get it for one child if twins two if triplets.

It's not just if you are on benefits though other criteria makes you eligible.
