Nurses!

I know this is a personal question but if you are a nurse and work in the NHS how much do you roughly get a month working part time? I'm currently deciding if we can afford the drop from full time after being on maternity leave.

It really depends on what band and increment you are on. Do you work days/nights/weekends?
There is a huge difference in a band 5 who works Mon-Fri part time 18.75 hours and a band 7 who works 30 hours permanent nights.

I'm a band 5 hoping to work 22.5 hours. Mostly two 12 hour shifts in the week with the odd weekend. I'm on step 4 which I think is around 24,500. I'm currently contracted to 37.5 and after tax come out with roughly £1400pcm.

Hope that helps.

You are probably looking at about £1000 pcm. Maybe slightly less/more depending on unsocial hours.
My friend is a top band 5 who works 18.75 hours and earns around £900 but does do a fair amount of night shift. I assume you pay superann?

If you use the salary calculator

www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk

You can adjust it for full/pt options. Not surer what antisocial hours would do to it?

I am a Band 5 , not strictly NHS but we have a similar pay scale to them, slightly less. I work 22.5 hours a week and generally come out with about £1300. That will include extra duty payments for 3 nights per 4 week rosta and 2 weekends, so 2 saturdays and 2 sundays.

Thankyou. I said to myself aslong as I get over £800pcm we will be ok ??
