Does Carers allowance affect housing benefit?

AFAIK it does affect housing benefit yes, but it also attracts a premium so in effect the added premium cancels the CA out IYSWIM.

Have you told the housing you have a disabled member of the family dp or child ( if that is who you care for) because then you will also get a disability premium in your hb calculation.

No.... Ive not even been claiming what it would appear im entitled to for sooo long.

Make sure you get a full benefit check op. I missed out in. £1800 of hb because I didn't know we were entitled to it.
In case you aren't aware if you are claiming tax credits and you have a dc who is disabled make sure you tell then because you will get extra money from them.
