Fan heater running cost

Am I deluding myself in thinking that if I pay 14p per unit for electricity, and I run a 2Kw fan heater for an hour, that will cost me 28p?? Have had conflicting advice on this, so if anyone actually "knows" I'd really appreciate you telling me! tia x

That's how I'd interpret it. Running Costs Calculator

specialsubject · 30/01/2014 14:54

that's right.

a unit is one kilowatt used for one hour.

bloke who works for british gas said 50p an hour.

bloke who works for British Gas is clearly without any clue. They have four different tariffs, rates different on each one.

cost is unit cost times number of units used times hours. End of. Fact. Simple maths. No more. Not '50p an hour'.
