PPI question

Hi,

I'm posting on behalf of my sister. She used Hidenda (a claims management company) to claim back PPI paid on her mortgage. Barclays sent the PPI questionnaire direct to my sister, she completed it and sent it straight back to Barclays.

Today she has received over £1500 direct into her account from Barclays. She is kicking herself (and I am trying not to join in!) for using a claims management company in the first place.

She is now wondering, as the money has been given direct to her, and Barclays seem to have by-passed Hidenda altogether, whether and when and how she has to give the 25% (! Plus VAT!) to the company.

Any help/advice?

Many thanks

we used a company and were given a chunk of money. 1 grand of that went to the company.

There is a template on MSE if anybody wants to claim PPI.. don't use a company.

They will hound her quite quickly for their cut.. trust me. She'll have to pay them as far as I know from experience.

Thanks. I've used the template myself. We are both thinking she will have to pay. She just assumed the money would be paid to the company, they would take their cut and send her the rest. It's worse somehow with the full amount sitting in her account, to think she will have to give them money for doing nothing at all!

Nothing to be done about it now, however.

no they send it to you and then they hound you for their cut.
