Child Benefit stopped for no reason??

I have just received a letter saying before they can make the next Child Benefit Payment they need to check I am entitled to claim it.
Odd I have one 11 years old and no have never worked or lived abroad.
On checking bank statement I realised that December and Januarys payments have been stopped.
I rang up but they were not very helpful as to why this has happened. On pressing the lady said you have claimed for two children in the past. I have two grown up children, neither who live at home and both work and pay taxes btw.
My Dd is my husbands only child.
Are they stopping payments for third children?
Our household income is not above 50 K

Call again, speak to someone else and make clear that you have an 11 yo living at home and meet the criteria for CB

Hi Ronald

Did call back and second person I spoke to was more helpful and said it was because they had no banking details. They had been paying into my bank account for last 11 years and no change. But bank with Nat West and they had problems last year, so maybe genuine reason for details disappearing.
I have to fill a form in with all the information and hopefully it will be re commenced and two months paid back.
Would urge everyone to check their child benefit payments.

Same happened to me ... they stopped the payments last October suddenly for no reason (still at the same address, they had the right bank account details, daughter aged 14). I rang up and they sorted it and paid back the shortfall

Hi pixel
That's good to hear. They wouldn't let me sort out over the phone . I had to send a form back with bank details etc. I have sent it recorded post so hopefully they will refund me soon.
