crap - have just found out my mobile phone package rounds up to the nearest minute. Anything I can do to get out of it?

Just got my first bill from new provider T-Mobile. I have a £22 package but have massively exceeded my minutes and therefore have a bill of £76 with VAT - couldn't work out why I'd used so many more minutes than usual (never went over 100 minutes with o2) and have discovered that they round up so even for a 10 second call you get charged the full minute. So, if I were to make 100 5 second calls I'd still use up my allowance and everything over that gets charged at their normal rate of 40p per minute (and again gets rounded up). It's a 24-month contract - is there anything I can do to get out of it?

I doubt you can get out the contract but your best bet might be speaking to them and increasing your inclusive minutes allowance instead. It'll maybe cost another £5-10 but cheaper than a £70 every month.

Tbh tho I think charging the full minute even for a 5 second call is normal. I could be wrong but I've been with orange, vodafone and 3 and I'm sure they've all done that.

Horrible getting a bill like that though
