credit card fraud and club card vouchers.

My credit card was used fraudulently on Friday. No idea how, as I have the card, it was an online transaction and my card is registered with securecode. Luckily the credit card company spotted it and called to check the transaction. I thought that they would just cancel the sale, but as the amount was pending they said there was nothing they could do and I will have to dispute the transaction when I get my statement. Why can't they contact the shop, who must have a delivery address for the theif?
I have also just received an email from Tesco about £100 of club card vouchers that have been ordered again not by me.
I'm panicking now, I have changed all my passwords, but if they got the data of my computer they might have all the new password as well.
I don't understand how this can have happened, I have firewalls, my virus software is up to date and I did a full malware scan only on Monday. I never reply to bank/credit card emails, I phone them back. How have they got my details and how do I stop them getting into my other bank accounts???

Email tesco or call and tell them you did not place the order and to cancel it. Did not know you could buy clubcard vouchers.

Update antivirus and malware scanners and run full scans.

Check credit card and bank statements regularly and query all transactions you can not account for. If you get several then request that cards are suspended and new cards and pin sent.

Card companies are usually very good about spotting fraud, so the pending transaction may never get further than that.

Do you let your browser save your passwords,if so change them again and dont save them next time, write them down and keep in a safe place.

What av and malwarescan are you using, update and scan again.

Turn off remote access, right click "my computer",click properties, click advanced system settings, click remote tab, uncheck the bos,can never undestand why this is checked by default.

Is your credit card a Tesco one? Mine is (we have had one with them for over 10 years) they are hot on spotting shopping which doesn't fit in with our normal spending. We use it purely for the clubcard voucher awards.

We had our details nicked and they tried to shop with our card on-line. Tesco froze all the payments so when I tried to use it I couldn't and had to ring them. Tesco did everything, went through the list of transactions, knew the ones that were dodgy as they had my billing address but a completely different delivery address. I literally had to confirm yes or no verbally and then sign a form.

I have securecode but not every company uses it. Even with this Tesco have rung us this Christmas just to check that it is us buying stuff, and to be honest it is what I love about them.

Your clubcard vouchers are meant to be protected from people using them as they have your name on so you can't even give them to friends. I would contact Tesco immediately about them.

If you ever think your computer has dodgy malware you should log onto another computer and change your passwords on that one, then go onto the one you think has been spied on run malware bytes/spyware/virus checkers.

We use LastPass for password generating as they are just random letters and numbers and it autofills for you.

Plus everything we do is backed up onto a remote server so if we needed to we can completely wipe a computer. Dh is in IT so we often help people out with this type of stuff. Hope that helps.

Meant to say we felt like our credit card details had been nicked from doing on-line shopping but couldn't narrow it down any further than that. My worry for you is that yours concerns your clubcard vouchers too so where have they got that info from?
