Hello I want to keep this short. I live with DP and DS1 + 2. DS1 is with my ex husband. I own a property and its not renting (which is why I have the DMP). Now I can stay with DP and see if someone rents my house and possibly go bankrupt later down the line. Or I can move back to my house and leave DP behind and take DS1+2 with me and get a part time job and live on my own as a single parent until my DP wants or can get a job where I would live and sort his house. So in short DMP possibly bankrupt (or could rent and then if houae prices go up can break even in the sale. Currently making 150 loss per month when its been rented) or take DS1+2 and move back to my house and wait for DP to move up. Im very confused with what to do. Also DS 1 if we moved back would be not far from his dad. The distance from my house to my partners house is 1 and a half to 1 and 3/4 hours drive.

Is the house you are thinking of moving back to mortgaged? Can you afford the mortgage on your own? If you are still a couple and have a child together you need to be careful claiming as a lone parent, although I guess you may be ok with different addresses but would need to sepaerate all other financial things such as joint accounts etc.
