Does anyone pay into a pension for their child? Just wondering how common it is?

We do, I must admit it is dh rather than me that wanted to do it but I'm glad we are, I think by the time she retires she will be very grateful we looked out for her! Hargreaves Lansdowne are the brokers and it was v easy to set up.

We do as well. Started when DS was 5. I don't think there will be a state pension by the time he gets there!
Tax efficient too.

Are there any disadvantages apart from the fact that the money is locked away for a long time and inflation will erode it?
