Car insurance

I'm a new driver, and just got a rather depressing comparitive quote (3 times my husband's. grrr). How much will this improve once I have a year or five's experience?

Might I be so bold as to ask:

A)Your monthly car insurance premium

B)engine size

C)number of years experience

Just have a play on a quote site and see, as things like postcode, where car is kept etc can make a big difference to your premium.

About £270 a year. Twenty one years driving. 2.5 litre engine. No claims in past five years.

I drive a 1.4.

My insurance this year was £338 and I have 4 years no claims. I also live in NI.

Have you tried insuring someone else as a named driver?

BSS it is your age that effects the cost - you need to be old enough but not to old, if you are near 40 this will be good,

the excess will also change the price - 500 excess will bring the price down opposed to 200 excess

driving to work and back will put the price up - do you use the car to commute to work? If not tell them you don't
