Am currently being paid weekly & want to change to 4 weekly. Does anyone know this works, will they pay me my last weekly amount & then not pay anything for 4 weeks or are they really generous & pay the 4 weeks up front?

If you ask them to change your payments, they will probably stop paying you altogether or over-pay you and then demand it all back!
I personally would stick to the way you receive payment now.
My friend informed them that she had changed her work hours, they took this to mean she had changed her work hours and her husband had left her! They really messed up her money but thanks to CAB, its all sorted out now.

Yes I am slughtly wary of contacting them! When ds2 was born it took them about 6 months to understand that I'd only had 1 baby - they kept sending out letters saying that I'd 2, both with the same name! They eventually grasped that bit & then later in the year when my childcare amount changed they suddenly decided that I'd had 2 again!

Yep, that sounds just like them. Are you sure you want to change the payment plan?!

Hi - they will not pay you for 4 weeks and then probably pay for the missed 4 weeks and the following four weeks in one lump sum

I would be wary of changing anything at the moment with them , I did a change five weeks ago and have been waiting ever since for that tho be processed and its messed up my whole claim , they tell me they have a huge backlog of award notices to send out and can give no time scale of how long this will take. I'm just about at my wits end with them

Does anyone know why they decide to pay some people weekly and others monthly?

They don't decide to pay some monthly and some weekly. Tax Credits are automatically paid 4 weekly unless you specify on the claim form that you want it weekly, as I did.
