...he has just been to school today to collect the rest of his stuff (boarding school)

He did his last exam last tuesday and he had cleared out his room as asked and put some of his stuff temporarily in his girlfriend's room

a laptop, a digital camera, a TV and a suit shirts and a 200.00 jumper

her clothes were in left in a cupboard downstairs

some of her boxes with art work were also in the room

ds told the house mistress and his head of year that he was collecting his stuff today

so today he went and left in the room was just the TV..the laptop and camera were with his girlfriend's stuff in the cupboard downstairs

his clothes have disappeared

he has looked in the bins etc and the house staff say there weren't any clothes there when they went in the room on FridaY

so I've said tell the head you are reporting it to the police and then report it to the police.

what do you think?

That's terrible zippi. I would be on the 'phone wanting to know what the head intends to do about it.

I agree with the police.

it's interesting ds thinks they have thrown them out and I suspect they probably have too, in which case they should have said so..

I've looked at my house insurance and it's not clear whether I can claim on that..I don't particularly want to as I have no claims discount

The expensive jumper and an 80.00 shirt were gifts from his girl friend

we paid cash for the suit so no evidence of cost

in order to claim anyway we have to get a crime number

I am so annoyed..it leaves a bit of a bad taste as they aren't even using these rooms yet, it's not like they have ,maintenance in there already

just seen this - has it got resolved yet zippi?I thought schools put all 'lost' clothes in their lost property box, not just chuck them out after only a few days. Do you think another pupil stole the clothes?

zippitippitoes · 11/07/2006 08:10

No..I sent an email to the head and he replied saying he was shocked and would look it into it and get back to me at the beginning of this week..We since discovered that it also included an ski jacket too.

Well at least there is some comfort to be taken in the fact that the head is shocked. I hope a good search can uncover the stuff but it's odd that the non clothing items were left untouched.

Is there the remotest chance that one of your son's friends has done this as a joke? If not it looks like the stuff was deliberately stolen - very sad.
