A quick question, hope some one can help.

On my dh P60 it shows pay in this employment as £49,500.00 for 2012-2013.

Gross salary is £53,000 a year.

He pays about £5,000 on pension contributions (avcs etc).

Do we have to register tonight for self-assessment, really confused and heard all the news on the tv tonight about it and panicking !!!!

Can anyone help ???

If he has no other income than what the P60 shows then no, he does not need to register to pay back child benefit. The £50k limit is calculated as gross income less pension contributions less gift aid payments made.

Hi, we did wonder, especially since they wrote to him a few weeks back.

I wish it wasn't so confusing.
