Incorrect NI number on payslips

I have just noticed that my NI number is incorrect on my payslip. I have just changed jobs so checked both my p45 and my previous employment payslips and it was also wrong on those. The numbers are all fine, just the letter at the end is incorrect.

Can I fix this, and can I fix it retrospectively? How should I do it? Is this going to be really bad...

I did get a tax notice in March telling me about a change in tax code with the correct employer and salary and correct NI number on from HMRC. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.

the letter at the end isn't used or looked at anymore. It used to allocated depending on which quarter of the tax year you were born. Both your HMRC record and your NIC record can be accessed with only the AB123456 part of your NINO. It's absolutely fine and no need to panic Smile
