PPI payment, is it worth appealing?

I applied for a PPI claim which has just been awarded (£220) it is lower than I expected but that's fine. What is grating me is the letter with it stating it is a 'goodwill payment and not admitting any liability' etc..
This is really grating on me and part of me really wants to appeal for them to admit it was mis-sold. Don't get me wrong, if I was awarded more money I would not complain but that is not the aim.
Has anyone appealed with a ombudsman? Would I be wasting my time?
