Refused for £11 - Can anyone help

Hi,

I have been to the bank to re-fix my mortgage and it was refused for the sake of an £11 default Orange phone company have put on there.
I switched from Orange to Virgin a few months ago, and vaguely remember receiving a letter saying I owed £11 but genuinley thought I had paid it.

The bank said if I could get it removed they could go ahead, and I have now called Orange and paid them the £11, but they said to remove it I have to email the credit referrals dept, which I have done, but I really wanted to get this sorted as soon as possible and I'm worried that they will take ages/not do it/not even reply or read it.

Can anyone help me / give me any advice please.

Not much you can do I'm afraid - you haven't been refused because of £11, you have been refused because you defaulted on a payment - the amount is irrelevant. It usually takes around a month if they agree to remove the default off your credit file, however if they will put in writing that they are removing it then your mortgage underwriters may accept that if everything else is fine :)
