I left my husband a year ago because of domestic and verbal abuse. Since that time I've been living in private rented accommodation and have almost half of my rent paid through housing benefit (I work full time but on a lowish salary). I've received a notice today from my local authority informing me that my revised amount of HB is £0. Without this help, myself and two sons will literally be homeless. The reason for their calculation is: Change of Liability. Does anybody know what this means? I am in a blind panic and can't call anybody until Monday. Any words of comfort would be gratefully received. Hmm

I had very similar happen to me (change of liability and claim changed to £0) - when I called my council to query it I was told it was due to it being the anniversary of when I first made my claim for HB and this caused a glitch in their system. I was reassured that it was a fault on their part, and that somebody would look into it

Took some chasing, and I was always told the same thing when I called - glitch in system due to anniversary of claim - I wasn't paid my HB for over a month but then it was all backdated

Do you live in a borough that begins with H by any chance?

Yes I do and it is exactly one year since I first claimed housing benefit. Please, please let that be the case. Thank you so much for your reply.
