had car accident last night and am so annoyed

Im OK. car ok. some bloke went into back and side of me. i was in right hand lane with free flowing traffic, he was in left. with a parked car in front of him. he was indicating right to come out and i had already gone past him plus i then had the parked car to my left, he obv pulled out to quick as he caught the back door of my car along to the bumper.

he got out was f in and blindin at me. having a go blah blah blah . said he was gonna ram my car and damage that then we would be equal or asked me to make him an offer. a bloke came out of his shop then and told him to stop shouting and having a go at me.

gave him my name and number and reg and who im insured with, he said he d phone me back with his details.he didnt so an hour and half later after speaking to insurance and also police i phoned him. he ummed and arrred for ages and then said he had litlewoods insurance.

phoned littlewoods up this morn and they dont even do insurance apparently

im not claiming for my car as i can sort the mark out myself but im sure the damage to his car had mostly been done before.

i just phoned the bloke from the shop to thank him and he said he doesnt stand for men talking to women like that and he thought the damage was there beforehand and stuff as there were no marks in road either.

had the police phone me back who have given me a ceime acciden number but im so annoyed as my insurance is up for renewal at beginning of next month and while this claim is pending my premium goes up.

i know i'll gt it back if im found not at fault which at the end of the day i was in the right hand lane and he went into me.

spoke to insurance who have looked up his details and it says no valid policy held, but that might mean coz the insurance hes with isnt listed on their system.

just so frustrated at one the way he spoke to me and had a go, two i end up paying more while this is going on, three i dont even know if he has insurance and i know this morn when i phoned insurance he hadnt made a claim or anything.

insurance have said someone can put a claim in 6 months after something has happened so i lose out til then. just cant understand why he said he was with littlewoods when they dont even do insurance.

sorry its so long just needed to get it off my chest

You sound totally in the right to me and I really can't see your company admitting liability and paying up. So I'm sure you won't lose out. The only problem for you is that you will probably have to pay for the damage to your car as I bet he is uninsured.

Take photos of the damage to your car before you fix it. The man in the shop is a witness also.

I don't think you need to worry. The other driver should be the one worrying as he will be done for driving without insurance. This is itself would invalidate any claim he makes on you, wouldn't it?

yeah thanks, i know when i spoke to him on the phone he said so are yr insurers gonna pay out then.

i said if im found at fault they will but until then i dont know. so he said whats the point in telling them if im not gonna get the money

then he was asking me what i had told them and stuff and when i explained i'd told the truth he started asking me exactly what id said and stuff

Contact the police and make them aware that you think he's given you false details which is an offence.

Also, if your insurers are dealing with it, they'll tell you not to have any contact with the other party. Anything from him should be referred to your insurer.

well i only got his reg and name and telephone no.i phoned him on the no so i know that is correct

spoke to the police for over an hour this morn and made them aware how threatening he was and that he seemed v cautious about giving me his details

all my insureres can do is put details that ive reported on their system. like i said it now means its just sitting there until he decides to put in a claim.

so i end up paying more until that time comes Sad if at all

does anyone know if there is any possible way of finding out if someone is insured?

i dont wanna spend the next 6 months + worrying if the man wasnt even insured

SImilar thing happened to me, guy drove into the back of me at a round about, was extremely rude and aggressive. Gave me his details, dh phoned him, first didn't want to do it through insurance but never paid up and our insurance company have been chasing him ever since (2.5 years ago) I still get letters every few months saying they are still trying.

sorry for your trouble that your having CHICagoMUM. its just so damn annoying me having to pay more money .will leave it a week and see if my insrance has heard anything .

phoned insurance this afternoon just to see if anyone had phoned up about it yet and they havent.

also found out that even if he wasnt insured he could still claim against me (even though it was his fault so not sure how far he'd get)
and that its up to the police to sort him out if he doesnt have insurance

this makes me so mad that someone could drive along without insurance have an accident and still claim for it even if they arent covered.

what is the world coming to Angry!!!!
