issue - Regarding jobseekers allowance??

mummyof2amy · 23/03/2013 17:58

We had to come off a joint claim from income support, and had to claim job seekers. Wednesday just gone my partner was meant to sign on but the job centre rang him and told him it was closed so therefore he didn't have to go in. This is the first time he signed on and our money is going into a bank account.

On what day will this money go in?
And how much will it be?

Thanks

I should of signed on, on weds too, it will go in on Monday. If not ring the main office in Worcester and they get you the money the same day. I think as your a couple it's £115 if your both claiming, if its your dp then it will be £71 a week paid in 2 weeks back pay. Any issues call Worcester straight away, they are very good at sorting things straight away

Sorry what is DP? And that won't be my office to ring. As I am in wakefield it is barnsley I have to ring.

The reason I have asked is because I had an unexplained payment in my bank friday, but I'm wondering if that is income support what they owed me

Darling partner

As far as I am aware you have your local office, but the H.Q is Worcester. It could be different, but that's as far as I am aware. You may of got an extra to put you in line with the 2 week cycle, so will still get a payment on Monday. I certainly have had the extra payment before

mummyof2amy · 23/03/2013 18:27

So will it be the full 2weeks on monday? Its normally £111.45 a week for both of us

It should be. I had to in on fri for a lone parent meeting and they told that. I'm hoping so anyways :)

mummyof2amy · 23/03/2013 18:36

This is a new claim though. And normally they don't pay you the full two weeks. Ill hope and pray that there is two weeks.

Main question is, even thou he didn't have to sign on cos they was closed, wud there be a chance it would have gone in on friday, or is it defo 3 working days to go into the bank. So defo will be monday?

It's 3 working days. The claim starts from when you first apply not from your first meeting. I've had too claim twice, the first time I had a payment before my first sign on. Mine didn't go in on fri, I bank with nationwide, only know it go in on Monday or before if a bank holiday.

mummyof2amy · 24/03/2013 07:53

Well it's. A post office account that I have.

Hoping when I go to the post office on monday there will be a payment
