I am looking at taking out level term policies for DH and me for 25 plus years

we already have a decreasing cover and critical illness policy to cover mortgage

1 - can I do this?
2 - is there anything whereby there is a payout at the end of the term rather than on death - so basically I am looking for a policy which will pay on death or at the end of the term?

Thanks

  1. yes
  2. yes! various things available.

speak to an IFA as #2 is an investment vehicle.

Thanks

I think the second is basically an endowment type policy isn't it?

Will try and make an appointment with an Ifa rather than trying myself

Yes, but there are some modern ones out there and you will have choices. I think your save/protect strategy is a good one (if you really need the level of insurance you describe)
