I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant, I'm signed off sick due to a pregnancy related illness. My wages are just about to go down to SSP only. I'm guessing I will be made to go on maternity by 29 weeks as more than likely will be signed off still.

My DP Was sacked at the end of January while I was in hospital. He is applying for JSA but had a call today to say because of my wages it's likely he'll only get the lowest one as my income is deemed ok. (Was about £750 assuming SSP will leave me with £350ish - that is the only income coming in)

Today I have spent about 2 hours on the phone with the bank trying to sort my overdraft out - over agreed limit with direct debits bouncing Hmm
I had the option of freezing my whole account until it was repaid and then they would look at arranging things differently - but this didnt seem to help me..

I'm stressed to the max and have no idea how everything is going to be ok. We managed to borrow rent money this month from in laws but can only see this getting worse.

Any advice, tips or anything would be welcomed with open arms. I've never been in a situation like this before and with bubs on the way know the expenditure it only going to increase.

TIA

I didn't want to read and run, sounds very very stressful for you.

If I were you I would call the CAB and get an appointment to see one of them asap. Also, take a look at ALL your expenditure and see if there is anywhere you can cut back or consolidate.

Thanks nilby. Think you are probably right.

I should have said I have cancelled all direct debits that are not essential and have also lowered mine and DP's phone tariffs to try and save some pennies.

Think hormones are making it all seem worse and certainly making me very teary over it. And also getting DP to realise I'm not just making a fuss but that it's really real and needs looking at!
