Safe deposit boxes

I have some jewellery and legal documents that I want to put in a bank safe deposit box as I'm nervous about having them in the house. I'd be so uoset if th ejewellery was stolen as its of great sentimental value, but not the typpe I'd wear on a daily basis.

But I'm told that banks no longer offer safe depoesit boxes. Anyone come across this?

Some banks do, however you have to be a customer. Other banks offer them for customers on high income accounts. Others still have stopped doing them entirely.

Self storage facilities often have similar options available, they don't just offer huge room sized storage options so these may be worth a try.

Rockchick1984 - would you be able to advise which banks still offer them to their customers, I'm finding none that will offer them to new customers.

Can't remember any more sorry - its been nearly 2 years since I stopped working in retail banking but as far as I was aware there were still some who offered them.
