I am getting ready to submit my tax return very shortly.

I am a childminder who uses computer for both business and private. Can this come under capital allowance? So sorry if this sounds daft.

Thank you for your comments in advance. Smile

Here's the HMRC explanation of capital allowances on plant and machinery which is where your computer will fall. If it is a new computer and you've bought it for the sole purpose of your business the treatment is different from if it is an old computer or it is only partly used for business purposes. Do you have an accountant?

thank you so much. No I do not have an accountant. I understand most of the tax return it sjust the odd bits that I am not sure about.
