Contract phone ... can't afford it...

I took an upgrade in November, they told me I was intitled to a 25% reduction of my bill under the family/friends sceme, they told me to go into store within 3 months, I know they said 3 months.

I only just managed to go in a few weeks ago, still well within the 3 months and they told me it was within 30 days and wont process the reduction.

So now my bill over the next 12 months is going to be £100 more than i expected.

On top of that our financial situation is about to change drastically.

I just don't think I can afford this phone.

Is there anyway to return it now or can vodafone help in any way? :(

Probably best to contact Vodafone directly, explain the misselling and threaten to cancel the contract.

I've already spoken to them several times about the discount, they have processed it for me but said it wont work as its over 30 days.

I'd phone them.

IME (of providers) store staff are not always au fait with all the possible combinations of contracts.

Ask to speak to a supervisor if possible. I've found that saying things like, "I'm not happy about X" on its own is sometimes not enough. You might need to say, "What are you going to do about X?" Nicely though.

If need be call another dept.

Good luck.

Crossed posts sorry.

Could they let you 'downgrade'.

Ask them to talk you through the cheapest options.

I'll give them a ring, thanks

you were mis-sold. Get Vodafone to cancel the contract. Then buy a supermarket PAYG, stick a tenner on it and you are good for a few months.

mobile internet and tight budgets don't match.
