Asda return policy???

Last week I bought a childrens trampoline from asda..fine at first but after a couple of days the bungee cord broke.
So took the bungee cord back expecting them just to replace it...no! They want me return the whole trampoline, explained that this was not possible as have no car and 2 small children. I'm not carrying a trampoline on abus with a pushchair and a toddler but all they could do was shrug their shoulders!

Soooo angry with them and have just sent a very stern e-mail to their customer services dept.
Am I being unreasonable to expect a replacement cord???

speaking of asda
my mum is seriously peeved with them

do you know they commit theft everyday
and thousands of pounds worth too

not only them but tescos etc

mum is looking at changing the law
she did it last time when something got her goat

No,I don't think that is at all unreasonable. Asda obviously won't sell just the part but should contact the supplier and get them to send you the cord directly. That is what I would expect anyway, after all you have just had one wasted journey.

TBH I think that is norml, I had to return an entire huge TV as they had put in the wrong remote control! Seems insane really but I guess it is something to do with quality control, if one thing got through that was substandard can they risk leaving you with the rest of it and just hope that it is all up to scratch?

True, didn't think of safety, they would need to check why it broke, annoying though it is.

Why can't ASDA take a new trampoline in the box, take out the cord, give it to you, and return that boxed trampoline complete with your faulty cord?
