Can anyone explain if I am entitled to SSP or not? Simply as possible because I am on a lot of painkillers and my brain is just not working properly. I get no company sick pay
My working week runs from Monday to Sunday. I called in sick 26/12 with a back spasm, and was then rota'd day off 27th and 28th, sick again on 29th and 30th (so 5 days counted as sick in that week). My payday was supposed to be yesterday but I have not been paid anything at all
I had a quick look online but don't understand it at all, I read it as I shouldn't be paid for the first 3 days, but I should be paid for the other 2. And if my employer can't pay it, they should have given me a form to claim it myself on the next available payday (yesterday) which they haven't.
Is that right? I have handed in a sick note 31/12 for one week but if I'm not entitled to any SSP I cannot afford to take the whole week off and would have to go back to work this weekend (back spasm, can only hobble about with a walking stick - I'm a barmaid)
