mortgage interest help

Does anyone know if I have to apply for this separately than income support? I thought all the details went on the form and they assessed it but it didn't kick in until after 13 weeks but I'm now nearly 20 weeks into my claim and the bank have just taken another full payment so they haven't had any benefit against it.

I want to get it all sorted out so that I know where I am and can start looking for a job that earns enough to replace my benefits but this one seems to not be as I was told it would happen.

Thanks for any help with this.

I believe you have to claim separately but am not 100% sure of this.

Guess I better ring them in the morning.

I assumed that given all the mortgage details went on the original form it would just be sorted out but maybe not.

thanks

Have you had to get your mortgage company to fill in any details yet? If not, then I don't think it's i8n the system so I'd be straight on to them.

Thanks, I rang them and apparently they forgot to send the form!!

It should be with me by the end of the week and they will back date to 13 weeks when its sorted so i just have to hope the form gets through my mortgage company quickly.
