Would you then be self employed?

Are you planning on opening an ebay shop or just selling stuff on the main board if it's the latter I wouldn't tell them.

charliecat · 07/04/2006 11:22

I dont know. I tryed reading the self employed bits on the IR site and got lost and even more confused.
If you dont tell them and then they find out whats the score?

If you're just selling things on ebay (and are not opening an ebay shop) I doubt there's any way of them finding out.

Wouldn't bank on that ledodgy... there is a dedicated team checking exactly that..

If you regularly buy and sell at boot fairs and/or on ebay (ie not just a once a year clear out of your old junk but you actually buy stuff to sell on) then you are running a business and it has to be declared within 3 months of starting it. You are classed as self employed and must fill in a tax return. HTH
