joint mortgage company demutualising EX to get shares as 1st policyholder - how can I change this?

sorry long title AND changed name cos ex reads MN and I dont want him knowing Im looking into this

bascially our mortgage company is in the process of demutualisation. Their policy is that if the policy is in joint names, the first policyholder gets the shares.
Of course, my soon-to-be ex is first policyholder.

does anyone know whether I can get this changed?
At the moment he is still on the mortgage even though Im paying it and all the bills.
will be soooo angry if he gets any monies as there will be no way he'll admit & give it to me

IF he signs house over to me in divorce settlement (unlikely) I guess the shares will revert to me.

have been on website but no help
